Taco Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1sea salt pizza dough
  • 1 Tb. Olive oil
  • ½ C. taco dip Base, or to taste
  • 1 C. shredded cheddar jack cheese
  • 1  lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • Romaine Lettuce, finely julienne
  • Roma Tomato, diced
  • Carolina Flavors Salsa

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 F.

To prepare beef for pizza, heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add a drizzle of vegetable oil. Add ground beef to the pan and break up with spatula. Season with salt and pepper. Cook stirring often until beef is browned and just cooked through. Strain off excess rendered fat if necessary.  And set ground beef  aside. Add  one Tb of rendered fat and add diced onion into the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally for approximately 3 minutes, or until  they begin to turn translucent. Add Ground beef back into the pan with onions, stir to combine. Add a 1/4 -½ cup of salsa and stir to combine. Set aside.
Spread pizza dough onto cookie sheet or pizza peel. Spread an even layer of Taco dip base across  pizza dough. Next sprinkle an even layer of cooked ground beef mixture across pizza. Finally top with cheddar jack cheese.
Bake pizza until dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.

Remove pizza from oven, cool for a few minutes, cut into slices, top with drizzle of salsa, romaine lettuce and diced tomatoes. Enjoy!
