Straight from the Source

Where does our produce, meat, and dairy come from?

Locally grown food is healthier for you and better for the environment.

More and more people want to know where their food comes from and the practices of the farmers who grow and produce it. When you choose The Produce Box, the answer is from over 100 local farmers across the state of North Carolina, many of whom are award winners. Our partners work hard to bring you farm-fresh produce, from berries and melons to peppers, eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, and lettuce.

From the Source: Fresh Produce From Online to Your Table

We’re not just any fruit and vegetable delivery service. Our farmers practice ethical and sustainable agriculture by using filtered or closed water systems and cover crops. They are good stewards of the land and are thoughtful and careful in how they farm. That means you can always trust the source of your fresh produce delivery. And think about how eating more local foods lowers CO2 emissions by reducing the distance food travels from farm to consumer.

It’s part of our mission to make sure our members know their farmers. We love to share their stories through Facebook and our blog, from their farms and families to their trials and triumphs as farmers in North Carolina.

We always buy local first. When that’s not possible, we supplement with regional and national produce throughout the year to make sure we have a variety of fruits and vegetables on our menu every week.
