Christmas morning WANTS french toast! Chef Beth’s recipe is an indulgent addition to any holiday breakfast!
Ingredients
- 4 Eggs
- 3/4 C. half and half
- 1 Tb. granulated sugar
- 1 Tb. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- zest from one lemon
- 1 loaf challah bread sliced to desired thickness
- warm syrup for serving
Directions

1. Mix eggs with a whisk in a large bowl, add half and half, cinnamon, vanilla, ground ginger, lemon zest and sugar. Set aside.2. Heat a large saute pan on medium high heat. Dip bread into batter one slice at a time allowing to soak into bread some. Add 1 tb of butter to the warm pan and cook french toast until nicely browned and cooked through. If browning too quickly turn heat to medium low to finish cooking through.Serve immediately with butter & warm maple syrup!
