- 1 Package ready-to-bake pizza dough
- 1lb heirloom tomatoes
- 70z fresh mozzarella
- Carolina Flavors balsamic glaze
- Fresh basil
Roll out pizza dough to approximately 1/8th of an inch. The shape isn’t as important, as long as it fits on your tray. Think rustic. Place rolled dough on a cookie tray. Brush with EVOO and bake according to package instructions. You want this to be crisp around the edges and nicely browned through the center.
While the crust is baking, slice up the tomatoes and mozzarella to your desired shape and thickness. Tear the basil into rough shreds.
When the crust is done, carefully remove from oven and let sit until cool enough to handle.
Layer tomatoes and mozzarella in whatever manner you choose, sprinkle with sea salt and cracked pepper. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, and shower the finished flatbread with shards of bright green basil. Enjoy!
